The Market Towns Programme (MTP) is an ambitious programme of economic-led interventions to renew and reshape our town centres and high streets for the future in a way that promotes growth, improves experiences, and ensures sustainability.

The MTP is underpinned by creating a renewed sense of place, igniting civic pride and providing attractive new destinations for our residents and businesses. The longer-term ambition is to stimulate public and private sector investment, bringing forward future opportunities for jobs and skills.

Over the next months and years, we will be delivering an exciting range of projects across Huntingdon, St Ives, St Neots and Ramsey. This includes investing in the local environment, for example, we will be delivering a major renewal of St Neots Market Square and key gateways into the town centre.

We will also work on improving the Great Whyte area in Ramsey by redesigning and enhancing public spaces. This could potentially allow for an expansion of the town market and other pedestrian facilities. We will also be developing new and low-cost opportunities for independent traders to sell goods and services in Ramsey town centre as part of the 'Market Produce Hub' initiative.

The promotion of our Market Towns, highlighting their local businesses, history and heritage through the Digital Information Screen project is another exciting scheme. This will see attractive modern digital screens located in St Ives, St Neots, Huntingdon and Ramsey, in prominent positions. The screens will be an interactive tool which will help shoppers locate services as well as get more out of their visit.

As we develop and begin deliveries of these and other projects, these webpages will be one of the tools that we and our partners will be using to ensure that local people are kept informed and can join the conversation about the regeneration programme.

The cumulative funding confirmed to date for the MTP is circa £20 million for Huntingdon, St Neots, St Ives and Ramsey.
