Oliver Morley will take over as Huntingdonshire District Council's interim Managing Director from Wednesday 1 March 2023, following the departure of Joanne Lancaster.

Oliver, the District Council's Corporate Director for People, was officially appointed at a meeting of Full Council on Thursday 15 December, but will start on 1 March following the departure of Jo Lancaster who stepped down after nearly 10 years in the post. Recruitment for a permanent Managing Director will begin in the Spring.

Cllr Sarah Conboy, Executive Leader of Huntingdonshire District Council, said: "We are pleased to appoint Oliver as interim Managing Director. Oliver has a wealth of experience, extensive knowledge of the local area, and a passion for local government.

"Oliver will continue to drive forward our ambitious agenda for the Huntingdonshire and I look forward to working closely with him to ensure we provide the best possible services we can to our residents.

"I would also like to thank Jo Lancaster for her stewardship and leadership over the years. Jo's knowledge and experience have been a massive asset to Huntingdonshire during some of the toughest years local government has ever faced.

"She has shown tireless commitment to public service and the mutual respect that is evident between members and officers is a testament to her approach. I have always valued and respected her wise advice which has helped us deliver a better Huntingdonshire for our communities."
