On Sunday 24 July, Huntingdonshire District Council’s Sports Festival in the Park will return to Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Huntingdon.
At this popular event people can try out a variety of different sports and activities all on one day. This year’s sports and activities include archery, bubble football, golf, Cyclone, sailing, Aikido and many more. All activities are run in partnership with local clubs and activity providers, giving visitors a link into regular participation where possible. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day and get active. Best of all, it’s free!
Cllr John Palmer, whose executive responsibilities include the One Leisure Active Lifestyles team, said: "Last year there were nearly 500 people attending the Sports Festival in the Park, trying a variety of different sports with friends and family. It’s a great way to get out of the house and get moving, ready for an active summer."
The festival runs from 11am – 2pm and is open to everyone across Huntingdonshire - the more the merrier.
This is just one of the many events and activities that make up the Delivering Activity and Sport in Huntingdonshire (DASH) Phase II Project. DASH is a three year project funded by Sport England, with an emphasis on getting older teens and adults to maintain healthy lifestyles. Visit the DASH page for more information on the project.
