Bus Shelters

As part of a contract between Hunts DC and Primesight, a range of advertising and non-advertising bus shelters are provided across the District.

Phase 1 was delivered during 2003 with 30 shelters containing advertising , together with 5 containing no adverts.

Phase 2 of the programme was completed during Summer 2005 providing a further 5 shelters with advertising and 19 with no adverts bringing the overall total across the District to 59 shelters. Additional funding contributions were also made by Huntingdon Town Council, Brampton Parish Council and Bury Parish Council.

Phase 3 is nearing completion in early 2009 with another 10 shelters installed including an upgraded facility serving Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

Huntingdon Bus Station

The District Council is currently investigating options for the redevelopment of this facility during 2009/10 and has allocated funding for the project. A period of public consultation will be undertaken as soon as the scheme is sufficiently progressed and details will be posted on this website.

Huntingdon Bus/Rail Interchange

As part of our work on delivering the programme of work arising from the Huntingdon & Godmanchester Transport strategy, a new Interchange was completed at Huntingdon Railway Station in 2007. This was jointly funded by the District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council. Changes to bus services from 14th April 2009 will see more routes running through to the rail station.
