Community Transport

As a continuing partnership between the District and County Council's and two local Community Transport schemes, a range of journeys now operate across Huntingdonshire.

These include daily Dial-a-Ride schemes with local services to our Market towns and villages for shopping and a whole range of day-to day activities. Trips to Farmers Markets in Huntingdon, St. Neots and St. Ives are also run by Nene & Ouse Community Transport. All schemes operate with fully accessible vehicles.

These schemes also offer excursion trips to a range of other places both within and outside Huntingdonshire such as shopping trips, leisure outings inc. pub lunches, garden centres and theatre trips.

Group Hire, and in some cases, self-drive hire, is available for local organisations and groups who require transport but do have their own vehicle or wish to travel together.

Most Huntingdonshire schemes are now operated by Nene & Ouse Community Transport as follows;

For details of services around Huntingdon, St. Neots and St. Ives and about 50 surrounding villages and parishes (formerly Ouse Valley Dial-a-Ride), please contact Nene & Ouse Community Transport on (01832) 733336 for full details of areas covered and further information on membership.

Schemes in West and North Huntingdonshire were previously operated by the Thrapston Volunteer Bureau (TACT) and Peterborough Dial-a-Ride (PDAR), covering around 30 villages and parishes west of the A1 as well as along the A1(M) corridor between Huntingdon and Peterborough. For further details regarding villages served, please contact Nene & Ouse Community Transport on (01832) 733336

Ramsey & District Community Bus operate an independant scheme within Ramsey, Bury, Warboys and surrounding area. For further details phone (01487) 815543

For those holding Huntingdonshire bus passes, both Operators permit free travel on day-to-day on local services within the District. For other day-to-day services elsewhere within Cambridgeshire, passengers can travel for a flat-fare of £1.80 return. These concessions are not available for trips outside the County or local excursions such as Theatre trips or Pub lunches. Full details are available from either Operator.
