NEWS

The District Council is carrying out a public consultation on a review of its car parking strategy between 12th November and 5th December 2007. Please use the Parking and Access link for further details on this consultation.

Cambridgeshire County Council commenced main construction work on the Walden Road Bus Lane in Huntingdon in February 2007 with completion during the Summer. This has considerably reduced public transport journey times around the ring-road.

At the same time, a new Bus/Rail Interchange was completed at Huntingdon Railway Station funded by the District and County Council's working in partnership with Network Rail and First Capital Connect. The taxi rank and forecourt parking were improved at the same time.

As part of the Huntingdon to St. Ives Bus priority measures, it is planned that more bus services will integrate with the railway station, together with a project to provide improved travel information.

The County Council have now commenced public consultation on the next phase of the bus priority measures at Hinchingbrooke and they are inviting comments on the detailed design proposals.

For further information please use the link to the right-hand side of this page which gives more detailed information on the project and details of how to comment on the proposals.
