Wildlife Plant Sale (04/09/08)

Early autumn is a great time to be thinking about the garden and is a good time to buy unusual perennials or plants to encourage bees and butterflies next year.

On Sunday afternoon 14 September, 2008, the Wildlife Trust plant sale will take place at Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Huntingdon.

Senior ranger Judith Arnold said: “Herbs, groundcover, shrubs and wild flowers will be on sale. You will benefit from your purchases because your garden will look beautiful, and so will the local wildlife.  It is important to have a wide mixture of plants to encourage wildlife into our neighbourhoods. Butterflies that visit the garden add colour too, and you will be helping the declining bee population which will also pollinate fruit and vegetables for you.”

The sale begins at 2pm. Parking is free.
