Whitsun Bat Walk At Hinchingbrooke Country Park (21/05/08)

Hinchingbrooke Country Park Sunset

Discover the world of bats in twilight as they fly around woodland, field edges and over water hunting for food on Thursday 29 May 2008 at Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Huntingdon.

With the help of bat detectors you can enter the noisy world of squeaks and clicks as bats use ultra sonic frequency to detect their surroundings.

The evening will start with a short talk followed by a walk around the park. You may find it useful to bring a torch and to dress appropriately for the weather.

David Robinson, Countryside Services Ranger said; “Bats are the only true flying mammals.  In the United Kingdom there are 16 resident species but not all of them are resident in Huntingdonshire”.

If you want to hear and hopefully see some of these amazing mammals, including Pipistrelle and Daubentons, come along to Hinchingbrooke Country Park on Thursday 29 May between 8.30 pm – 11.00 pm.  There is no charge for this event
