Local children from primary and junior schools in the district embarked on St Ives for the spring High Netball Festivals. The festivals allow both boys and girls to take part in High 5s Netball that is specifically designed for children of this age.
Thursday 24 April saw the medium schools competition take place. Holywell Primary School won both the year 5/6 A and B team titles with the A team beating Bury Primary School in a close and exciting final. Bury Primary School managed to claim a title by winning the year 3/4 A team title and Thongsley Primary school shared the year 3/4 B team trophy with Holywell.
Thursday 1 May saw the small schools competition take place. Brington Primary School claimed all three titles on the day but had to play very well to do so. In the year 5/6 A team competition Brington beat Elton Primary School in a closely fought final. Brington year 5/6 B team claimed the title with Abbots Ripton Primary School and Great Gidding Primary School tied for second, and in the year 3/4 competition Brington beat Upwood Primary School in the final.
Unfortunately the large schools festival was cancelled due to bad weather but has since been rearranged.

The festivals are organised by Huntingdonshire District Councils Leisure Development Team and were held at St Ivo Outdoor Complex.
