Sports Relief is coming to Huntingdon this Sunday 16 March with the Hinchingbrooke Country Park Mile taking place alongside the other 250 events nationwide.
Huntingdonshire District Council’s Leisure Development Team is hosting a local event where hundreds of people will be getting involved and showing their support by taking part in a 1, 3 or 6 mile run around the park. The event at Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Huntingdon opens at 10am with runners starting at 11am and 12 noon.
This is the first time the Sports Relief Mile has been held in Huntingdonshire and it has proved to be very popular amongst local residents with all 500 spaces being filled prior to the event. Spectators are welcome but with this amount of people taking part both participants and spectators are advised that parking will be at a premium and it is best advised that people should look at alternative ways of getting to Hinchingbrooke Country Park where possible.
The day itself looks set to be fun and challenging for all those involved. As well as the run itself there will also be various stands, a free prize draw and fancy dress prizes, all in aid of raising money towards Sports Relief and going to good causes in the UK and abroad.
To replace all the energy used by runners and supporters alike Huntingdonshire District Council rangers will add to the donation. For every £2.00 bacon roll that is bought, £1.00 will be added to the Sport Relief funds. Click on the link on the right for more information.
