The Huntingdonshire Diversity Forum is holding its fourth annual event Unity in the Community day on Saturday 28 June at St Peters School, Huntingdon between 11am – 3pm.

This year Unity in the Community is offering a traditional British fun day with an international flavour, aiming to bring local communities together in a cultural celebration, to raise awareness of diversity and to promote a greater understanding between the different communities within the district.

It will be a free fun packed day of food, music and dance from all over the world and all members of the local community are welcome to attend.

Activities on the day will cater for people of all ages and include food from all over the world, free sports coaching and demonstrations, Bhangra Beat, bollywood workshops and performance, a scottish piper, a bouncy castle, traditional fete stands, sounds from Q103 and much, much more. The focus will be on giving people a chance to try out new experiences for themselves.

Alison Pennycook, Diversity Advisor at the Environment Agency and Chair of Huntingdonshire Diversity Forum, “This is the fourth event we have held promoting the rich diversity of our community. Over the years we have seen the event growing in popularity and this year it is guaranteed to be even bigger and better. We have so many different free activities taking place that there will be something to interest everyone. There will be a warm welcome to everyone who comes along and joins us on this fun day out.”

The Huntingdonshire Diversity Forum is a multi agency partnership which aims to consult with and improve the quality of local services for people living in Huntingdonshire who are from diverse backgrounds.
