A bird box building event at Coneygear Park, Huntingdon is being hosted by Huntingdonshire District Council’s Countryside Services, in partnership with Huntingdon Town Council on 22nd June 2008 with sessions at 10am, 11am and noon.
“This event will be a good opportunity for young people to build a bird box using a pre-cut kit which they can take away to put in their gardens or school. The project will hopefully encourage young people to take a greater interest in wildlife in urban areas”, said Brian Gardner, Ranger responsible for Coneygear Park. “There are many birds in and around the park, and by building bird nest boxes we’ll be able to encourage more wildlife to the area as well as have fun at the same time.”
In order to attend this free event, please book a space by telephoning 01480 451568. Limited spaces available. Children under 8 years must be accompanied by an adult.
