Unfortunately, due to recent heavy rain, parts of Riverside Park at St Neots are waterlogged, and it has been decided to cancel the first of this season’s Sunday afternoon concerts there (8th June).
Riverside Music concerts in Huntingdon, St Ives and Ramsey aren’t affected, and it is hoped that the St Neots park will be dry enough for future concerts from next Sunday.
Promoted by Huntingdonshire District Council Arts Service, in association with Huntingdon, St Neots, St Ives and Ramsey Town Councils, these free outdoor concerts have proved to be a great hit with residents and visitors alike since they began, with many families returning every week of the season.
This year’s programme includes a variety of music from traditional brass and silver bands to jazz and pop, and is sure to offer something for everyone. As well as local groups such as the Huntingdonshire Concert Band, St Neots Big Band and Somersham Town Band, talented ensembles are also coming from across the country. The concerts run from 2.30-4.30pm and are free!
The full programme is available free of charge from local libraries, Leisure Centres and shops, from the Arts Service on 01480 388248, or it can also be downloaded from the HDC website by clicking on the link on the right.
