Dog Show Hounds Of Hinchingbrooke (18/06/08)

An ideal day out at Hinchingbrooke Country Park for dogs and their owners is planned for Sunday 29th June, 11am until 4pm.

There will be stands and stalls selling every doggy item you can imagine, information and displays and PDSA and vets on hand to give advice.

Several small arenas will have action packed activities throughout the day.  There will be ability classes, fun classes and games, as recognised by the Kennel Club.  So from puppy veteran, waggiest tale or fastest retrieval there will be something to suit every dog. Visitors will also have the chance to test the agility of their pets (and themselves!) on the agility course!

“This will be a fantastic day out for all the family” said Judith Arnold, Senior Ranger.  “In the main arena, a timetable of events includes displays by “gamegoer” (showing the art of retrieval) and agility demonstrations, whilst down at the lakeside, the Leonberger dogs will demonstrate their skills at water rescue. There will be entertainment for all our visitors who don’t have a dog themselves.”

Huntingdonshire District Council recognises good dog ownership.  Whilst some areas require dogs to be on a lead, there are many areas within the district where dogs can be exercised off the lead, as long as owners clear up any mess.  Advice on basic ownership skills will be available on the day.  Any money raised will be divided between the PDSA, Wood Green, PAT dogs and Dogs for the Disabled.
