Disabled access fishing platforms have been erected at Barford Road Pocket Park in Eynesbury by Huntingdonshire District Council’s Countryside Services Rangers.  This joint project, sponsored by the Environment Agency, will provide people attending the young anglers courses with a safe and easy area to fish.

Ranger Matt Johnson said, “The marina bank is very steep.  These platforms will allow access for all abilities to this part of the Pocket Park”.

Ian Hirst the Environment Agency’s Fisheries Technical Specialist said, “We are always keen to provide opportunities for more people to fish in Huntingdonshire.  These platforms will compliment those already erected in Huntingdon and St Neots”.

This is a partnership project involving contractors funded by the Environment Agency, District Council Rangers and St Neots Community College whose young people provided finishing touches.  Pupils from the college regularly help with conservation work at the Pocket Park.
