Over 20 different types of dragonfly can be seen during the summer months at Paxton Pits Nature Reserve. You are invited to come and learn to recognise some of these spectacular insects on a half day course at the Reserve on Sunday 29th June, 10.00am until 1.00pm. The course is organised by the Friends of Paxton Pits Nature Reserve and will be led by Henry Curry from the Dragonfly Project.

Access For All At Barford Road Pocket Park (18/06/08)

Disabled access fishing platforms have been erected at Barford Road Pocket Park in Eynesbury by Huntingdonshire District Council’s Countryside Services Rangers. This joint project, sponsored by the Environment Agency, will provide people attending the young anglers courses with a safe and easy area to fish.

£4 Million Economic Boost For The Fens (11/06/08)

Local people have been awarded £4 million of funding for the Cambridgeshire and Norfolk Fens by the East of England Development Agency. The funding, from the Rural Development Programme for England, will be spent over the next seven years on local projects designed to foster a thriving farming and rural business economy in the Fens, that benefits local communities and the environment.

Following on from the success of ‘Birds Basics’, The Friends of Paxton Pits Nature Reserve are running a half day course, all about insects, jointly with the Wildlife Trust at Paxton Pits Nature Reserve.
