Disabled access fishing platforms have been erected at Barford Road Pocket Park in Eynesbury by Huntingdonshire District Council’s Countryside Services Rangers. This joint project, sponsored by the Environment Agency, will provide people attending the young anglers courses with a safe and easy area to fish.

Huntingdonshire District Council’s Building Control Team celebrated their achievements with local timber frame house producer Potton Ltd of Great Gransden after scooping an award at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Built-In Quality Awards for East Anglia.
Local people have been awarded £4 million of funding for the Cambridgeshire and Norfolk Fens by the East of England Development Agency. The funding, from the Rural Development Programme for England, will be spent over the next seven years on local projects designed to foster a thriving farming and rural business economy in the Fens, that benefits local communities and the environment.

Following on from the success of ‘Birds Basics’, The Friends of Paxton Pits Nature Reserve are running a half day course, all about insects, jointly with the Wildlife Trust at Paxton Pits Nature Reserve. The event is being held on Sunday 15th June, 10.00am until 1.00pm.
