Minibeast detectives are invited to Hinchingbrooke Country Park on Thursday 7th August, to discover what lurks in the ponds, hovers above your heads or crawls beneath your feet.

Do you have a child with a learning disability, sensory impairment or multiple disabilities who will enjoy an afternoon hunting for minibeasts?  Huntingdonshire District Council Countryside Services Ranger, Alison Gray, will be leading a session of fun activities on Thursday 7th August between 2.00pm and 4.00pm. The activity will be organised in short sections, moving from ponds to long grass and through the woods. For those with mobility difficulties, a wheelchair will be necessary, but staff will be on hand to ensure that examples of minibeasts are shown to all participants. Parents or carers will be expected to stay and brothers and sisters are welcome to join in.

We want  everyone to realise they can be part of the local environment and experience some of the small living creatures that play such an important part in making the country park what it is today.” said Alison “We will be outside for most of this hands on session, having fun and enjoying the country park at its best.”

Rangers will try to accommodate all needs.  Please tell us about any special requirements when you book.  The event will take place at Hinchingbrooke Country Park on Thursday 7th August, 2.00pm to 4.00pm The cost is £4.00 per child (carers free).  There will be limited places.  Please phone 01480 451568 for further information or to book a place.
