Panel To Quiz Anglian Water Over St Ives Sewage Problems (02/07/08)

Let us hear it from your point of view to know the way forward

Representatives from Anglian Water will attend a meeting of Huntingdonshire District Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Panel (Service Support) to discuss the continuing problems being experienced by residents of St Audrey Lane and Warren Road, St Ives as a result of flooding from the foul sewerage system.

The panel decided to investigate the problem after a petition signed by 26 local residents was presented to them in February 2008. Members of the panel have visited the area and have talked to the residents about the problems with the local sewerage system in times of heavy rainfall.

Councillor Jonathan Gray who chairs the panel, said: “I am pleased that Anglian Water have agreed to attend our meeting to discuss the way forward. We recognise that the current situation is unsatisfactory for local residents and we hope that our discussions with Anglian Water will help to find a satisfactory solution for all involved.”

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 8 July 2008 at 7.30pm in Pathfinder House, Huntingdon and members of the public are welcome to attend.
