Almost 100 participants braved the bad weather on Sunday 6 July to attend the Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Forum Outdoor Festival at the St. Ivo Outdoor Complex.

Sports on offer included climbing, archery, tri-golf and many more.  In the morning everybody enjoyed the sports despite the bad weather, but unfortunately during afternoon the activities were cancelled. The Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Festivals offer disabled people the opportunity to come along and try a range of sports on one day, completely free of charge.

Festival Co-ordinator and Sports Development Officer, David Reeve said; “I was amazed by the turn-out despite the bad weather conditions. I believe that is a sign of how much this type of event is valued by all that are involved. It was a real shame that the afternoon activities could not take place but safety of the participants is paramount. Thanks must also go to Howzat Cricket Club, Hemingford Squash Club, The Golf Foundation, St Ives Rangers Ability Counts Football Team, St Ivo Outdoor complex and all the volunteers for making the day a success.”

The summer sees an extensive programme of disability activities and the annual Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Forum Indoor Festival is being held on Sunday October 5 at the St Ivo Indoor Centre.
