To promote Noise Action Week the environmental protection team at Huntingdonshire District Council, ran a poster competition. The lucky winner of the Noise Action Week poster competition was Ryan Turner from Spaldwick Infant School, aged 7.

Participants were invited to design a poster for use in the 2009 Noise Action Week campaign with a theme of considerate neighbour behaviour where noise is concerned.  The competition was open to anyone under the age of 18.  The team were very impressed with Ryan’s entry and he was a clear winner.

Last week (Friday 4 July) the Chairman of the Council, Councillor John Davies and Sue Merry, Environmental Protection Support Officer attended Spaldwick Infant School to present Ryan with his prize, a set of Philips wireless headphones.
As well as being presented with the headphones, Ryan and his family have been invited to Huntingdonshire District Council’s document centre, at Eastfield House, later this year, where he will be able to witness the poster being printed from the large printing machines. The document centre is where all the council’s printing is carried out.  The poster will then be used to advertise 2009 Noise Action Week campaign next year.

Chairman of the Council, Councillor John Davies said; “The entires were of an excellent standard and showed imagination and an understanding of the issues involved around noise. Ryan did an excellent job”.
