The following cases of making false claims for benefit were heard in Huntingdon Magistrates Court on Wednesday 23 July. The prosecutions were brought by Huntingdonshire District Council.

Samuel Pepys School Scores A Try With St Neots Rugby Club (24/07/08)

Students from Samuel Pepys Special School enjoyed Tag-Rugby coaching from St. Neots Rugby Club outside of school hours over the last few weeks. This non-contact version of the full game has allowed the students to practice ball-handling skills, dodging skills and most importantly teamwork.

Minibeast Hunting For Families (23/07/08)

If you would like to know more about minibeasts with no legs, 6 legs or lots of legs then come to Hinchingbrooke Country Park on the 1st August and join the rangers hunting for creatures around the site. There will be 2 sessions, one for families with children aged 4+ from 10am until 12 noon and one for families with children aged 8+ from 1.30pm until 3.30pm.

Minibeasts Of River And Meadow (04/07/08)

Dragonflies and damselflies will be part of a walk along the banks of the River Great Ouse in Wilhorn Meadow, in St Ives, on July 13th at 2.30 pm. The walk has been organised by Huntingdonshire District Council’s Countryside Services and will be lead by local naturalist Mick Twinn so that local people, adults and children alike, can learn more about these extraordinary insects.

Shake Up Of Council Structure (03/07/08)

Huntingdonshire District Council is to carry out a review of its existing committee structure. The present arrangements with a cabinet system of decision making has been in operation now for six years, replacing the old out-moded committee system that had existed since the 19th century.

Moth Magic At Paxton Pits Nature Reserve (03/07/08)

Following a day-long trial at Huntingdon magistrates court on Thursday 26 June 2008, Lillian Freeman (31) of Sapley Park, Huntingdon, and Mark Taylor (27) of The Whaddons, Huntingdon, were each found guilty of charges of benefit fraud.
