Visitors to Huntingdonshire District Council’s customer service centre at Centenary House, Huntingdon, have given glowing reports in a satisfaction survey.

Six months after the centre opened, people have been invited to complete a short questionnaire
to say how satisfied they were with the service they had received, and 99 per cent  thought it was ‘excellent’ or ‘good’.

The customer service centre brings together the full range of council services which had previously been located across a number of floors within the council’s offices at Pathfinder House. Since the new centre opened at the end of July the customer services team has seen nearly 40,000 people. The average waiting time for housing or benefits advice is now only three minutes.

Councillor Ian Bates, leader of the council said: “When we created the customer service centre we wanted to make it easier and quicker for people to get help from the council. This survey tells us we made the right move. People have been very complimentary about the standard of service they have received, praising the helpfulness of the staff. This is excellent news and a tribute to the team based at Centenary House.”

The customer service centre at Centenary House is temporary facility. It will be replaced by a permanent customer service centre as part of the rebuilding of the council’s Pathfinder House headquarters which is due to be completed in 2010.Click on the link on the right for more information on Customer Service Centre.
