Huntingdon Farmers’ Market is launching a search for the best recipes using ingredients produced in the local area.  Customers and producers who sell at the Farmers’ Market are all being asked to contribute their favourite recipes to the Huntingdon Farmers’ Market Cookbook which will be published later this year.

The main ingredients in the recipes should be available from Huntingdon Farmers’ Market and the deadline to send them in is Friday 12 September.  Full details can be obtained by email using the link on the right or by request from any trader at Huntingdon Farmers’ Market.

“The aim is to promote the fantastic food available at Huntingdon Farmers’ Market and the great meals that can be produced using locally produced food” said Councillor Colin Hyams, Huntingdonshire District Council’s executive councillor for operational and countryside services.  “I am always enthusiastic about cooking when you have fresh, quality ingredients available at a fair price.  Our local food producers and our customers often swap ideas on how to prepare tasty dishes, so a Huntingdon Farmers’ Market Cookbook seems the natural next step. I am looking forward to many happy hours preparing meals using local ingredients.”

Huntingdon Farmers’ Market is an award-winning certified farmers’ market held every other Friday in the Market Square from 8am to 2pm, the next market date is Friday 15 August.
