Walkers Achieve Top Incentive (20/11/07)

Walkers awarded fleeces

With summer being a washout and winter already here, a Huntingdonshire health walks fleece is the perfect item of clothing to keep you warm whilst out on a stroll.

Mary Hall and Alan Young were both awarded a Huntingdonshire Health walks fleece as a prize for completing 150 walks on Monday 12 November. Alan and Mary join in with both the Huntingdon and St Neots groups and rarely miss a walk. During that time they have achieved all the incentives on offer which include pedometers, drinks bottles, baseball caps and t-shirts.

Alan said, “I find walking an enjoyable and social activity. At my last check up my cardiologist was very happy with the progress I have made and I put this down to attending these walks”.

The Huntingdonshire Health Walks Scheme is run in partnership with Huntingdonshire District Council and Cambridgeshire Primary Care Trust. There are walks on every day of the week. These walks are held in St Ives, St Neots, Huntingdon, Ramsey and Yaxley and are free of charge. New walkers are always welcome to walk their way to health. Why not join the group on a walk and start your way towards achieving your health walks fleece?

To find out more about the walks contact Lisa Bulbeck, Health Walks Co-ordinator on 01480 387047 or visit the pages on our website using the link on the right. Leaflets can also be picked up from your local leisure centre, library or doctors surgery.
