Food Safety Course Exam Success For Lady Of 90 Years (28/03/07)

At the grand old age of 90 Mrs Joan Wilding has successfully completed a level two training course in food safety for caterers.  She is the oldest successful candidate in Cambridgeshire.

There are 19 members in total who passed the course organised by Huntingdonshire District Council.

Tony Shaw, course tutor and environmental health officer at the council presented the ladies with their certificates at their annual general meeting in Huntingdon last week.

The successful candidates are members of the Huntingdon and Peterborough Women’s Institute and produce food for the Huntingdon and Peterborough Country Market Society which is then sold at St. Ives and St. Neots Country Markets and St Neots Farmers Market.

Tony Shaw Course Tutor and Environmental Health Officer at Huntingdonshire District Council said, “These ladies are to be congratulated for their hard work and commitment to the course. The council is committed to offering food safety courses to all sections of the food industry and we are also able to provide suitable training for voluntary groups for free or at a reduced rate.”

St. Ives Country Market is held on Fridays in the Guide Hut, St Neots Country Market is held on Thursdays in St. Mary’s Church Rooms and St Neots Farmers Market is held on the 2 and 4 Friday of each month.
