Getting the Right Start to a healthier you is the aim of new exercise classes being offered by Huntingdonshire District Council at Sawtry Leisure Centre.
The Right Start classes offer a safe and effective way to improve health, fitness and wellbeing. They are run by qualified instructors trained in exercise referral and cardiac rehabilitation who are recognised as advanced iInstructors, Level 3 on the Register of Exercise Professionals.
Mr Don Findlay, former heart patient, said: “The classes are really enjoyable, taught by knowledgeable and friendly staff. We all know we should do more exercise; I find the classes a fun and social way of making sure I do”
Councillor Mike Simpson, whose executive councillor responsibilities include leisure, said: “We hope to be able to offer more classes around the district soon. We want to encourage people who are currently not getting enough exercise to give it a try. The classes are suitable for anyone with a stable medical condition or who may have not exercised in a long time.”
Classes are held every Wednesday from 2 to 3pm at Sawtry Leisure Centre, and cost £2.75. For more information on this and other exercise opportunities in Huntingdonshire call the Leisure Development team on 01480 388469.
