Dog walkers are gathering in Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Huntingdon for a sponsored walk on Sunday 8 July to raise money for the charity Dogs for the Disabled.

Everyone is welcome to come along and join in on the fun – even if you would like to take part and just give a small donation. Volunteers will be available between 11am and 3pm to set walkers on their way.

“We would like to encourage as many people as possible to come along and help raise money for this worthy cause. There will be various lengths of walks available suitable for wheelchair users. It will be a great opportunity to meet new people and explore the park” explained Huntingdonshire Countryside Services Ranger Judith Arnold.

Other activities including a quiz and sales stall will be available and each participant will receive a certificate and every dog will go home with a goodie bag!

Dogs for the Disabled is a Charity that trains dogs to help disabled people live their lives more independently. Dogs for the Disabled receive no government funding and rely totally on donations.

Hayley Rayner, who has Uska, a qualified Labrador said, “Uska helps me daily by opening doors and picking up items I may have dropped.  He even helps take my socks off at night.”
