Winter Sunshine (18/01/07)

Brazillian Singer Monica Vasconelos

Is this weather getting you down?  Would you like a little sunshine in your life?

Brazilian singer Monica Vasconelos and Nois 4 play traditional Brazilian folk music alongside samba, bossa nova and gentle jazz.  Their music has been described as “like sun on your face and an antidote to SAD”, and they are coming to Huntingdon on 2nd February.

Born in Sao Paulo, and learning her vocal and songwriting crafts there, Monica has performed at world class venues, including The Barbican, and many major international festivals.  She has supported both Brazilian gods of song such as Gilberto Gil, and British gods of pop and jazz including Brian Ferry and Courtney Pine.  Nois 4’s music is full of South American rhythms and melodies – warm and evocative, this is world music at its best.

Nois 4 play at Hinchingbrooke Performing Arts Centre on Friday 2nd February at 7.30pm.  Tickets are £8.50, £6.50 and £3 for children under 18.

There is more information on the link on the right, where you can download the Hinchingbrooke Spring Music season brochure.  If you would like a brochure sent by post, or to book a seat for Nois 4, call:  01480 388248.
