Voluntary and community groups are invited to meet a range of different organisations that give grants for local projects at a funding fair to be held in Huntingdon. This will be an opportunity to talk directly to representatives to find out the best ways to make applications. Representatives from the Big Lottery Fund, Lloyds TSB Foundation, Heritage Lottery Fund, Local Network Fund and many more organisations will be there to answer questions.
The funding fair will be held at the Maple Centre, Huntingdon on 25 January 2006 and is open to organisations working in the Huntingdonshire area. Individuals can also come along if they have a good idea and want to know how to develop it. Projects could be about investigating heritage to increasing the employment prospects of young people. The day is being organised by Huntingdonshire District Council and Hunts Forum.
Kathy Shaw, the district council’s external funding officer said “This will be a good opportunity for people to find out about the latest funding opportunities and access information about making goof funding applications.”
The day will run from 10am to 2pm and people who wish to attend should call Rebecca Edwards on 01480 387091 to book a place. People can attend for the whole day or just part of the day. The event will be free of charge and refreshments will also be available from the Maple Community Centre.
