Huntingdonshire District Council has completed a housing land availability assessment which identifies and assesses sites for housing development within the District. This document will be used to inform the planning proposals development plan document which will allocate land for the next 15 Years. This document, once adopted, will form part of the Huntingdonshire Local Development Framework.
The council is consulting on the housing land availability assessment between 3 January 2007 and 31 January 2007 to give people the opportunity to comment on the contents and to put forward additional sites which meet the criteria set out in the document.
The purpose of the Housing Land Availability Assessment is to identify as many potential housing sites as possible and to identify constraints that might affect their suitability for development. The sites are ranked in terms of their potential for development to help determine whether they are appropriate for inclusion in the planning proposals development plan document.
Peter Bucknell, executive councillor for planning strategy, said: “This is a very important document as it forms the basis for decisions to be made on the precise locations for development across the district”
The document is available to view through the link on the right hand side, and at its offices at Pathfinder House, St Marys Street, Huntingdon.
