Roadside verges and football pitches in the district will look even better this year, thanks to the delivery of a New Holland Tractor to Huntingdonshire District Council.
The new tractor arrived this week and will be used to improve service delivery across a range of grounds maintenance activities.
The new machine has a range of attachments which, in addition to cutting difficult grass areas in parks, open spaces, highway verges, ditches and banks, will also enable the council to undertake a wider range of routine maintenance activities to football pitches, including deep aeration to relieve compaction of subsoil and over-seeding of heavily worn areas.
Paula Longford Executive Councillor for Operations welcomed the delivery of the new vehicle and the start of its first week out and about in Huntingdonshire.
Paula told us, “This new multifunctional machine will enable us to continue to improve the services we provide to residents of the district. It can do a wider range of tasks than the previous machine and will enable us to improve further, the maintenance standards of roadside verges, ditches, banks, open spaces and football pitches within the district. I am looking forward to it seeing the difference it will make to the area”.
