The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is the most widely recognised lifeguard qualification in the UK with over 33,000 lifeguards gaining the NPLQ every year.
This course is an excellent way to start working in the leisure industry and provides valuable skills which can be used throughout your life.
The leisure centres in Ramsey, St Ives and Sawtry are all running this course on different dates so you can choose what is most suitable for you. The course costs £199 per person and early booking is advised as there are limited spaces available.
Candidates must be 16+ years (at the start of the course), be able to commit to the 38 training hours required and meet the following basic fitness criteria:
• Jump/dive into deep water
• Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
• Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back
• In deep water, tread water for at least 30 seconds
• Surface dive to the floor of the pool
• Climb out unaided without ladder/steps.
