Bats are special creatures, our only native mammals able to fly, yet many people know little about them and are even a little frightened of them.
On Friday 10th August, at 8.00 pm you are invited to take a quiet boat ride on the River Great Ouse, at dusk, to learn all about the bats flying above.
The Ranger for Holt Island, Bridget Halford said; “We will be using special equipment which enables us to hear the bats calling even though the calls are outside our hearing range. Different species of bats have different calls. It promises to be a fascinating and rewarding evening”.
The boat leaves from the Waits in St Ives and the evening costs £10.00 per person. Places are limited, please book in advance by contacting (01480) 451568.
For further information contact the ranger on 07917 554057 or 01480 451568.
