Amphibian Evening (04/04/07)

Hinchingbrooke country park

If you would like to find out more about local amphibians then Hinchingbrooke Country Park has organised a dedicated evening about the fascinating creatures on the 20 April from 7:30pm.

Experts from the Cambridge and Peterborough Amphibian and Reptile Group will give an illustrated talk, with live amphibians for people to see, followed by a walk with a ranger around the country park on an amphibian hunt.  The cost is just £2 per person.

Alison Gray, Ranger at Hinchingbrooke Country Park said, “This will be an interesting evening for young and old alike.  We have a number of species of amphibian within the park and will hopefully spot some once it gets dark. It can often be tricky to tell a frog from a toad so the talk will cover identification and behaviour of frogs, toads and newts.  People often want to encourage more amphibians into their garden ponds so experts will be on hand to answer any questions.”

Places are limited so you must book in advance.  Phone 01480 451568 for more information and to book a place.  If you would like more information about CPARG then please contact Steve Parnwell on 07786 443802.
