Outdoor half-term fun was on offer for young people between 11 and 16, at Hinchingbrooke Country Park.
Huntingdonshire District Council’s countryside rangers ran a junior rangers day on Tuesday 14 February from 10.00 am – 3.00 pm.
“We wanted young people to experience some of what a ranger does, so that they can appreciate the role of conservation, habitat creation and wildlife monitoring. However, the young people interpret this opportunity, just to appreciate the local habitats, or to consider this as a future career, our aim was to provide a fun day out.”
The junior rangers had the chance to help with woodland management and footpath clearance and to consider various health and safety issues.
