Residents are being urged by Huntingdonshire District Council’s tree specialist not to cut down their horse chestnut trees if they appear to be dying or in poor condition this summer. Although the tree may appear to be dying, it is more likely to be in the midst of a severe, but not fatal disease.
Huntingdonshire District Council countryside services staff and volunteers achieved great heights at Rutland Bird Fair last weekend when they got presented with two awards for their stand. One award was for the best stand in the tourism category and the other was for the best stand in the whole show. The stand was to promote the future extension to Paxton Pits Nature Reserve which will see the reserve expand 3.5 times over the next 10 years following further gravel extraction.
