Do you know where to vote

polling station

Elections are scheduled to take place on Thursday 3 May 2012 for 15 of Huntingdonshire District Council’s 52 seats, and for all seats on 14 town and parish councils. Almost 83,000 electors will be eligible to vote.

Poll cards have now been posted and the District Council’s Returning Officer, Terry Parker, is urging residents to make sure they check the location of their polling station. He said: “Over the summer we undertook a full review of our polling districts. This review changed some administrative boundaries which means that some residents will be voting at a different polling station to the one they are used to. I would ask all electors to check the polling station information on the front of the poll card they should receive later this week.”

Not everyone in the district has elections in their area, but if you do and you can’t make it to the polling station on the day, you can apply for a postal vote. To download an application form please visit www.huntingdonshire.gov.uk/postal or call 01480 388017 to receive an application form through the post. All applications to vote by post for 3 May elections must be received by 5pm on Wednesday 18 April.
