Community celebrates Jubilee
Friends of Huntingdonshire Community Nursery have joined together with tenants from Luminus housing to create a garden area to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The planting was funded by Huntingdonshire District Council, Godmanchester Town Council and Luminus. It consists of diamond shaped beds which are bordered with box hedging to create a parterre.
Inside the beds are Queen Elizabeth roses. It is hoped these will be in flower for the celebrations in June.
Nursery Project Officer, Mary Evans, said: “It was great that tenants from the flats overlooking the garden joined in the planting as they will get a fantastic view of the design.”
