Clubs Wanted for Sports Festival in the Park 2012
Sports clubs and organisations are being given the opportunity to promote themselves by running an activity, or having a stand at the Huntingdonshire Sports Festival in the Park this summer.
The Festival is being held on Sunday 22 July 2012 at Hinchingbrooke Country Park between 11am and 2pm, and is part of the London 2012 Open Weekend events celebrating the start of the London 2012 games. This follows on from the successful event in 2011 which attracted over 550 people.
This free, family orientated event, organised by the sport and active lifestyles team at Huntingdonshire District Council, is aiming to give local sports clubs and organisations the chance to showcase their activities to members of the public and provide sporting challenges and activities for people to come and try.
Paul Ashbridge, Sports Development Officer, said: “We are looking for any sports clubs or organisations that want to promote themselves by having a stand or running an activity on the day to get in touch. This is a really good opportunity to show what they have to offer and encourage people to take up their sport.”
