On Monday 22 June, Lawrence Speller (37) of The Crescent, St Ives, was sent to prison for 28 days for failing to pay council tax.
Following a successful campaign last year in St Neots, Huntingdonshire District Council is again enlisting the help of a bailiff company to help us collect council tax arrears, using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology.
The newly renovated council offices in St Ives Town Hall were officially launched this week. Customers were invited to enjoy tea and cake whilst looking around the offices on Monday 22nd June.
Did you know that since April 2008 Huntingdonshire District Council has received over 700 reports of people committing benefit fraud? Over 300 of these reports came from members of the public and the benefit fraud team would like to thank all those people that took the time to report matters or assist the council in its investigations.
