The cloud seat

This 13 acre area of common land is a quiet haven in the centre of busy Huntingdon. With a peaceful pond and open grassland it is great for walking the dog, having a picnic, meeting friends or spending time watching the wildlife.

Events and Activities

The Rangers hold events each year at Spring Common for the public as well as conservation work parties. Volunteers are always needed to help with the practical tasks which include tree and shrub planting, grassland management work, pond clearance, litter picking and much more. For details use the link to the right for the District Council's What's On database.

Educational Opportunities

Spring Common is within walking distance from many Huntingdon schools and provides learning opportunities for children of all ages. There are no facilities at the Common so half-day visits are ideal. As well as schools we welcome youth clubs, children’s play schemes and scout and guide groups to Spring Common. Please contact the Ranger on (01480) 451568 to discuss your visit.
