Huntingdon - Riverside Park


Riverside Park, Huntingdon is situated off Hartford Road which joins the ring road around the Town of Huntingdon.

 The Park commences at the bridge over the River Great Ouse, near the Old Bridge Hotel and meanders adjacent to the river for 2,000 metres (1-1/4 miles) to Hartford church. The whole area covers 14 hectares (34 acres) in area.

 Picturesque river walk over bridges with a wealth of wildlife both on land and water.

 The park has a beautiful hay meadow containing a variety of flora and fauna.

 Also, a formal park with fenced in children’s play area.



The park also contains:

 Car Parking facilities for approximately 200 cars, with toilet facilities.

 2 Football pitches and changing pavilion. Sunday league football (hyperlink to football)

 Hand crafted metal screens depicting scenes from the river side. This was commissioned by Huntingdonshire District Council and forged by: George James etc. and maintained by the local charity 'Workbridge'.

 The Rowing Club leases the land for their boathouse in the park and it is a base for local canoeists. Contact No: .

 A day boat operator, Purvis Marine (Terry Kelly – Phone number) hires out cruisers for you to experience the delights of the river and one of the National Trust sites – Houghton Mill is easily accessible by boat.

 Summer band concerts are held close to the car park to entertain visitors and residents of the District. There is a variety of music played and these take place between June and the end of August each year.
