Swim 4 Life Scheme News

Huntingdonshire's Leisure Centres will be transferring to an in-house 'Swim 4 Life' teaching syllabus from January 2009.

This follows a Leisure Centre survey into swimming lessons carried out in February 2008 and changes to the scheme provided by Amateur Swim Association National Plan for Teaching Swimming which will come into effect from September 2009.

Baby Ducks Swimming Lessons (18+ months to 3 years)

These lessons introduce skills which encourage balance, familiarity with water and an excellent opportunity to meet others whilst learning. The class will include a selection of skills including blowing bubbles, floating and submerging. Parents must accompany their child in the water.

Junior Swimming Lessons (3+ years)

We provide swimming lessons for 3+ years by incorporating the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) National Plan for teaching swimming. Our qualified teaching staff help your child gain confidence, develop technique and enjoy swimming.

Cheeky Chimps Soft Play

The crèche is open for Soft Play whenever Junior Swimming Lessons are taking place. These sessions are for under 8's only and all children must be supervised by an adult.

All sessions are only 80p per child for 30 minutes.

Autumn Half Term Crash Courses (3+ years)

During autumn half term we will be offering crash courses for Ducklings (3+ years) and Beginner 1 (5+ years). All courses include a general badge and certificate if gained.

£20.50 for 5 days

Adult Swimming Lessons

It is never too late to learn to swim or develop your technique. Adult lessons are suitable for complete beginners or confident beginners. Teachers will follow the ASA adult programme to improve your skills and ability.

£81.00 for 15 weeks

National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

This is the most widely recognised lifeguard qualification in the UK with over 33,000 lifeguards gaining the NPLQ every year.

The course is for 16+ years and provides an excellent way to start working in the leisure industry giving you valuable skills which can be used throughout your life.
