What sort of housing do they provide?
Housing Associations (or registered social landlords) meet a variety of different needs. They build and manage:
- Houses and flats for families, single people and couples.
- Warden assisted housing for older people and
shared homes, hostels and flats for people with extra needs such as those with a physical disability or a mental health problem
Most of the Housing Associations with properties in this area will advertise their available homes via the Home-Link scheme (see the External Links box on the right of this page for details of the scheme). So by registering on the Home-Link scheme you will be able to bid for properties owned by those Associations. Those Associations that do advertise via this scheme include: Luminus; Accent Nene; Bedfordshire Pilgrims; Cambridge Housing Society; Axiom; Granta; Guiness Trust; Minster and Muir.
Some of the Associations do not advertise through this scheme and so it is worth contacting them to see if you need to apply to them direct. A list of all the Associations with properties in the Huntingdonshire District is available in the Linked Documents box on the right of this page.
