Right to Buy
Huntingdonshire District Council transferred all its housing stock to Huntingdonshire Housing Partnership (Luminus Homes) in March 2000. As we no longer own any houses we do not have any tenants and the right to buy scheme is not applicable in Huntingdonshire.
Preserved Right To Buy
People who were council tenants when their homes were transferred to Luminus Homes kept their right to buy their home: they have a “preserved right to buy”. These tenants keep their preserved right to buy if they move to another house owned by Luminus Homes.
If you think that this may apply to you please contact Luminus Homes on (01480) 428777.
Right to acquire
The Right to Acquire scheme gives eligible tenants of registered social landlords (housing associations) the right to buy their home.
If you think that this may apply to you, please speak to your landlord. A list of Housing Associations contact details are provided on the right.
Voluntary Purchase Scheme
Tenants of registered social landlords may be able to buy their home at a discount through the Voluntary Purchase Scheme. The scheme does not apply to all tenants and it does not provide any statutory right to purchase a home.
If you think that this may apply to you, please speak to your landlord. A list of Housing Associations contact details are provided on the right.
