Home-Link is a choice based lettings (CBL) scheme that provides a different way of letting council and housing association homes. Huntingdonshire is one of the seven councils in the Cambridge Sub region that has worked together to introduce the Home-Link scheme. The other councils are: Cambridge City; East Cambridgeshire; Fenland; Forest Heath; South Cambridgeshire and St Edmundsury.
Under the scheme most council and housing association homes that become available for letting will be advertised via the internet, through a property magazine, at council and housing association offices and at other access points. There will be an advertising cycle every fortnight when people registered on the Home-Link scheme can see what properties are available. If you have applied to the scheme you will be able to express an interest (known as making a bid) for the homes you would like to be considered for. The person who has the highest assessed need, and meets the criteria for the property, and has bid for the property will then be offered the tenancy.
If you have a housing need and would like to apply to Home-Link scheme please go to the scheme website (click on the link in the External Links box on the right of this page and then go to the Registration page).
You can complete an on line form at this website or request a paper form to complete and return. Please remember though that there are far more people applying for these properties than there are properties available. We would encourage everyone to consider all their housing options, including privately renting and low cost home ownership options rather than purely relying on housing via the Home-Link scheme.
If you would like more information about your housing options please see the information on this website or call us on 01480 388222 or 388223, or by e-mail using the "E-mail Housing Reception" link at the top right of this page.
