Health Walks

As part of the National Initiative and with funding from Huntingdonshire District Council, Huntingdonshire Primary Care Trust and The Countryside Agency the Huntingdonshire Health Walks Scheme has now been established. The walks have been set up in St Ives, St Neots, Huntingdon and Ramsey. They provide people in the community with the opportunity to participate in organised health walks with trained leaders and volunteers. Walking is an easy and cheap way to get fit and stay healthy. Exercise Referral Scheme

The exercise referral scheme provides local people access to exercise for rehabilitation and prevention of specific medical conditions.  Registered Health Professionals can refer individuals who may benefit from a personalised exercise programme to any of the District's Leisure Centre.  For further information, please see the link on the left.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase IV Classes

Designed for people who have suffered a heart attack or have undergone heart surgery.  Patients who have completed a hospital based exercise programme are referred to a community exercise class run by specially qualified instructors.

FoodNational Food Safety Week (17/06/09)

A national campaign, aimed at the over 60s, will be launched this week during National Food Safety Week (15-21 June), offering advice on the need for proper storage and handling of food in the home.

The keys for two properties, one in St Ives and the other in St Neots have been handed over to Huntingdonshire District Council. They have been bought with the aim of turning them into ‘green’ show homes to demonstrate our commitment to tackling climate change and encouraging residents to be energy efficient.
