Huntingdonshire District Council only provides a collection service for two types of clinical waste. This includes:
- Incontinence pads
- Dialysis waste
Incontinence Pads
Individual residents can apply for a seperate collection for incontinence pads. This service is provided free of charge. Individual yellow 'tiger-stripe' bags are issued for the disposal of this waste type. If you, or a family member, require a clinical waste collection to be set up, please contact us. Clinical Waste collections take place throughout the district on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and are free of charge.
Dialysis Waste
The collection of dialysis waste can only be arranged via the Primary Care Trust and not by the individual resident.
Clinical Waste Collection for Business Premises
Business premises can also apply for a seperate collection for incontinence pads, e.g. Residential Homes or Nursing Homes. This is a chargeable service and currently the charges are 47 pence + VAT per sack (2007/08). If the residence has charitable status, the first five sacks per week are supplied free of charge.
