Oxmoor is a former Greater London County Council overspill housing area, based upon a ‘Radburn’ layout of housing areas separated from one another by main access roads, with separate footpath linkages. Problems with this type of housing have become clear over time, including the fear of crime. Both Huntingdonshire District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council have for some time been aware that improvements to Oxmoor are needed to improve the quality of life of those living here. This document pulls together the various surveys and research that has already been done into an ‘Action Plan’ with the objective of creating a ‘new heart’ for Oxmoor.
