Huntingdon Town Centre Vision 2006

Since the first Civic Trust report in 2000 valuable progress has been made towards reinvigorating Huntingdon Town Centre. Much more is in the pipeline.  This report shows how the opportunities that exist for investment can be harnessed for the good of the town and its residents.

Huntingdon is in the middle of one of the biggest growth areas in the country and yet its town centre, whilst busy and bustling, still has the air of a modestly sized market town. Attractions and amenities that are taken for granted in competing town centres in the region are lacking. Research suggests that new quality investment is urgently needed if Huntingdon is to prevent its competitive position from slipping in the future. Something of a “market town renaissance” is needed to reinforce and sustain the town’s position within a changing region.

You can download the report (split into sections) by clicking on the linked documents in the box on the right. An exhibition explaining the ideas in the report was held during September 2006.
